A Decade of Movies #32

V For Vendetta
Directed by James McTeigue
Released March 17, 2006

"Remember, Remember the 5th of November." V for Vendetta was originally scheduled for release on the weekend of November 5, 2005, the 400th anniversary of the 1605 Gunpowder Plot, with the tag line taken from a traditional British rhyme memorialising the event. However, the marketing angle lost much of its value when the release date was pushed back to March 17, 2006. Still, it was a pretty great movie in my book, although I ashamedly have never read to original comic book written by the crazy British mountain man Alan Moore.

V for Vendetta is also responsible for giving Natalie Portman a controversial new hairdo, which in turn spawned the Seattle-based band Natalie Portman's Shaved Head.

It really is a great movie. I also have not read the comic.
